Job Description

GYK Antler is looking for a driven Associate Strategist to join our team. This entry-level position requires a strong self-starter with the motivation to jump in and assist on all strategic projects.  This job requires individuals who are curious, have a willingness to learn, have a passion for research, and an appreciation for data.

Strategy & Planning Team Overview

As strategists and planners, our mission is to create and establish the foundation for all marketing to stem from and ensure all work at GYK Antler is driven based on tangible goals and objectives and quantifiable measures of success. We are ultimately responsible for contributing strategy to the positioning, packaging, and promotion of all GYK Antler clients. We believe strategy is at the heart of all client engagements, and act as champions to ensure it.  

Responsibilities

  • Work within the strategy and planning team on large strategic deliverables contribute to the our client’s strategic position and marketing implications
  • Be an expert when it comes to industry research, trends and data that can inform strategic foundations for our agency as well as our clients and their businesses
  • Expected to be able to use third-party tools to their fullest potential 
  • Work toward developing and refining your strategic consulting and professional skills is a primary focus at this level
  • Expected to work independently on assignments and assume responsibility for the development of strategic deliverables (i.e., SOAs, discover documents)
  • Expected to produce high-quality, client-ready deliverables that require strategic collaboration from lead strategists when necessary
  • The level of responsibility is limited by your outward-facing demeanor and abilities, and the pace of your development and leadership depends on your ability to demonstrate strategic leadership internally and externally
  • Spend much of your time working within the strategy and planning department and applying your growing knowledge to your role as you work toward becoming a strategist
  • Mentor interns where appropriate (i.e., learning research tools)
  • Achieves all defined professional skills
  • Most importantly, we ask that you be the best version of you every day

Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or Advertising
  • 1-3 or more years of ad agency experience  
  • Ability to learn more about consumers, brands, and the competition
  • Ability to maintain and meet client deadlines
  • Expert proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
